Completion and Admission Requirements
A total of 480 instructed hours are required to complete the program with a passing grade of 70% or higher. Grades are determined by testing and practical application. A diploma from a state-licensed school will be presented to the graduate after completing the program. Unleashed does not give credit for previous training or work experience. Students shall be counseled for failing grades or inappropriate action, with the possibility of a probation period. Depending on the severity of delinquency or actions, termination may be necessary and is at the discretion of the Director.
All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Individuals must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and be able to stand for a continuous 8 hours per day
- Must possess patience and have the ability to convey a positive attitude
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Show proof of current tetanus vaccination
- Interview with the Director before starting class
- Sign Enrollment Agreement
Dress Code and Non-Discrimination-Policy
Since dog grooming can be a messy job, appropriate dress is required. Students must wear nylon or wind pants, nylon grooming shirts, or t-shirts with nylon grooming smocks over top. Students must wear tennis shoes. No sandals, flip-flops or open-toed shoes will be allowed.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
General:
All applicants, for all programs, must sign an enrollment agreement. For all except the Nails Only Course, all applicants must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Prerequisites:
Unleashed does not require applicants and students to hold a High School Diploma or its Equivalency. At Unleashed, the minimum age for an applicant to enroll is age 16 unless, after meeting the applicant, the Director approves a younger students.
Professional Pet Grooming Course:
All applicants who wish to enroll in the Professional Pet Grooming Course must attend one full class day at Unleashed to be evaluated by the director Based on the evaluation day, the School Director may make recommendations that the applicant should attend other courses before enrolling in the Professional Pet Grooming Course. If made, such recommendations will be required to be followed by the applicant.
Professional Bathing Course:
All applicants will have an interview with the School Director prior to starting class.
Personal Pet Grooming Course:
Applicant must provided her/his own pet. Must agree to use (complete) all ten classes within one year’s time. This course does not prepare applicant for Professional Pet Grooming Career.
Nails Only Class:
Applicant must provide his/her own pet. Dates of class shall be issued upon enrollment. This course does not prepare applicant for Professional Pet Grooming Career.
SCHOOL POLICIES CREDIT FOR PRIOR TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE
Unleashed does not give credit for prior training or experience received somewhere other than at Unleashed.
ATTENDANCE
Holidays
- The School is recognizes the following Holidays and closes:

Unanticipated Closures
- Unleashed Pet Grooming School has the right to close at the discretion of the director. This could be due to inclement weather, illness, or emergencies related to the school (i.e.: heat, air, plumbing, etc.) Any time missed for such closings will be made up at the end of the course.
Tardiness
- If a student is tardy more than 3 times, th e next tardy will be counted as an unexcused absence.
Absences
- Absences may be excused or unexcused. To be an excused absence, the student must provide documentation from a third-party is required. Up to 3 unexcused or excused absences are permitted and may be made up. However, after the 3 absence (excused or unexcused), unless the Director makes an exception based on special, rare circumstances, then upon completion of the Program, only a Completion Certificate is issued and not a Diploma.
Leave of Absence
- Unleashed does not provide Leaves of Absences
CHANGES
The school has the right to amend its Programs and calendar, as approved by the O.B.P.V.S. and upon giving proper notice to students when notice is required.
GRADING & PROBATION
Written quizzes and tests are not given. The Instructor/Director will ask the student questions about a skill, observe student performance, and pay attention when a more advanced student explains a skill to a newer student. When the skill is considered satisfactorily learned and practiced, then the Instructor/Director will move the student to the next level. There is no formal academic probation, but a student will remain at a skill level until able to advance.
